- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mix well.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking powder.

- Take half of the mixture and spread it evenly in a greased 8 x 8-inch pan.
- Spread a layer of jam over the dough in the pan.
- Crumble the remaining dough over the jam layer.
- Sprinkle with white sugar on top.
