Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2 lb. fresh shrimp

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Beat the egg; add milk and mix well.
  3. Add the egg mixture to the dry ingredients and beat until smooth.
  4. Dip each shrimp singly into the batter.
  5. Fry the battered shrimp in shallow oil heated to 375°F for 2 to 3 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Drain the fried shrimp on absorbent paper.
  7. Serve with sauce.
