Shrimp Pilaff is a flavorful dish combining tender shrimp, crispy bacon, and fragrant rice, ideal for seafood lovers and suitable for family dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. shrimp
  • 4 bacon slices, cut into squares
  • 1 small minced onion
  • 2 1/2 cups canned tomatoes
  • 1 cup uncooked rice
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Partly cook and clean the shrimp.
  2. Remove bacon from pan and drain.
  3. Add minced onion and canned tomatoes to bacon fat and cook briefly.
  4. Place the mixture in a double boiler and steam over hot water for 45 minutes.
  5. Stir in peeled, cooked shrimp and a pinch of chervil.
  6. Turn the mixture into a casserole, cover, and bake in a moderate oven for 15 minutes.
  7. Serve with Mornay Sauce.
