Moussaka (Greek)

Instructions
- Saute the chopped onions, eggplant, and hamburger separately in oil until done.
- Drain the cooked ingredients and set aside.
- Add salt to taste.
- Make a sauce with 3 tablespoons oil and the flour, cooking over low heat.
- Add the stock and milk to the sauce and cook until thickened.
- Gradually add a little of the hot sauce to the egg yolks, then return the mixture to the sauce and cook briefly.
- In a buttered casserole dish, layer eggplant, meat, shredded cheese, sauce, and a sprinkle of nutmeg.
- Repeat the layers as needed.
- Beat egg whites until stiff and spread on top of the layered dish.
- Sprinkle a little cheese and nutmeg over the top.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
