Simple Sweet Scones

- Preheat oven to 425°F.
- Put flour, baking powder, and salt into a large bowl; stir to mix well.
- Add cold, unsalted butter and cut in with a pastry blender or rub in with your fingers until the mixture looks like fine granules.
- Add sugar; toss to mix.
- Add milk and stir with a fork until soft dough forms.
- Form dough into a ball; put on a lightly floured board and give 10 to 12 kneads.
- Roll out dough to about 12 x 5 1/2 inches.
- Cut with a 2-inch cutter.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
- Serve warm with butter, honey, or preserves.
