Ingredients

  • 1 milkfish (bangus)
  • 1 bunch mustard greens
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 3 medium tomatoes, sliced
  • 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 2 c. water
  • fish sauce (patis) to taste
  • 1/2 c. miso

Instructions

  1. Clean and cut the milkfish into 5 to 6 pieces.
  2. Wash mustard greens and cut them in half.
  3. Saute garlic, onion, and tomatoes in hot oil until mushy.
  4. Add miso sauce and fish sauce; cook briefly to combine flavors.
  5. Simmer the mixture for 3 to 5 minutes.
  6. Add the milkfish and 2 cups of water; bring to a boil and cook for about 10 minutes.
  7. Add mustard greens and cook for 1 minute.
  8. Stir in lemon juice for added tang.
  9. Add fish sauce if desired.
  10. Remove from heat and serve hot.
