Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 3 egg whites

Instructions

  1. Mix sugar, cornstarch, and cold water together and bring to a boil on stovetop. Stir and remove when thick and clear. Cool.
  2. Beat all egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  3. Add six tablespoons of sugar, one tablespoon at a time, to the egg whites while beating.
  4. Add a dash of salt and vanilla extract.
  5. Fold in the cooked mixture into the beaten egg whites.
  6. Continue to beat for two minutes.
  7. Spread the meringue on a pie shell.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for fifteen minutes.
