Sweet and fruity, these sliced fruit bars combine candied cherries and pineapple with a buttery dough, perfect for a delightful treat suitable for all ages.

Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 stick oleo, softened
  • 1/2 c. candied cherries, chopped
  • 1/2 c. candied pineapple, chopped
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, sugar, and baking powder, then add softened oleo and mix well with cherries, pineapple, eggs, and vanilla.
  2. Work dough until easy to work with.
  3. Divide dough and roll into ropes. Place on cookie sheets.
  4. Bake at 350°F for 15 to 20 minutes.
  5. Cool slightly and cut about 1-inch apart diagonally.
  6. Frost them before cutting or use powdered sugar.
