Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1.5 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons liquid smoke

Instructions

  1. Hard-boil the eggs and peel them.
  2. Run a thin skewer through each egg from top to bottom and side to side.
  3. Heat water, soy sauce, sugar, salt, and liquid smoke to a boil.
  4. Place the eggs in a jar.
  5. Pour the boiling liquid over the eggs and cover.
  6. Let the eggs cool, then refrigerate for 24 hours.
  7. Shake the jar gently and refrigerate for at least 6 hours more before serving.
