Ingredients

  • 3 lb. wing dings
  • 2 qt. water
  • 3 Tbsp. salt
  • 3 Tbsp. black pepper
  • 1 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Soak wing dings in water and salt for approximately 24 hours or overnight.
  2. After soaking, rinse wing dings after draining salt water.
  3. Sprinkle wing dings with black pepper and garlic powder.
  4. Put flour in a bag; shake wing dings in the flour bag.
  5. Melt shortening until hot.
  6. Place floured wing dings in hot shortening and fry until golden brown.
  7. Drain excess shortening and pour 2 cups water over wing dings.
  8. Let simmer with a covered skillet until it makes a gravy.
  9. Serve hot.
