Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 pound fresh snap beans, broken in pieces
  • 2 to 3 cups water
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes
  • 1/2 pound chopped ham
  • 10 new potatoes, washed with peels on
  • 6 slices bacon

Instructions

  1. In a heavy pot, fry bacon over medium heat until done.
  2. Remove the bacon and set aside.
  3. Add butter to the pot and all seasonings (onions, bouillon cubes, chopped ham).
  4. Saute for 5 minutes.
  5. Add all ingredients except potatoes and boil, covered, for 45 minutes.
  6. Add the washed new potatoes with peels on and season to taste.
  7. Cook for an additional 30 minutes.
