- In a heavy pot, fry bacon over medium heat until done.
- Remove the bacon and set aside.
- Add butter to the pot and all seasonings (onions, bouillon cubes, chopped ham).
- Saute for 5 minutes.
- Add all ingredients except potatoes and boil, covered, for 45 minutes.
- Add the washed new potatoes with peels on and season to taste.
- Cook for an additional 30 minutes.
