Ingredients

  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp cream of tartar
  • dash of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 6 oz chocolate morsels

Instructions

  1. Beat egg whites, vanilla, cream of tartar, and salt until soft peaks form.
  2. Gradually add sugar, beating until very stiff peaks form.
  3. Take 50 chocolate morsels aside for topping.
  4. Carefully fold remaining chocolate morsels into the egg white mixture.
  5. Cover a baking sheet with cut brown paper bags.
  6. Drop the mixture by teaspoonfuls onto the prepared paper.
  7. Top each with a chocolate morsel.
  8. Bake slowly at 325°F for 20 to 25 minutes.
  9. Remove cookies from paper and transfer to a cooling rack while slightly warm.
