Instructions
- Cream margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Blend in flour.
- Press mixture evenly into bottom of ungreased 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
- Bake in a 350° oven for 12 minutes.
- Remove from oven and immediately spread on jam.
- Beat egg whites until foamy, add sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time.
- Continue beating until stiff.
- Fold in coconut and half the walnuts, spread over jam.
- Sprinkle with remaining walnuts and return to oven for 20 minutes longer.
- Cool before cutting into squares.
