Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup salad oil
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup raisins

Instructions

  1. Cream salad oil and sugar together until well blended.
  2. Sift together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Add the molasses and milk alternately to the creamed mixture, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the raisins and walnuts.
  5. Spread the batter evenly in a greased or parchment-lined cookie sheet.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes until lightly browned.
  7. Remove from oven and sprinkle with additional sugar if desired.
