Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 5 cups flour
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 4 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 pkg. yellow cake mix (no pudding)
  • 2 1/2 cups hot water
  • 4 Tbsp. white corn syrup
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Mix the dry cake mix, dry yeast, and flour together in a large bowl.
  2. Stir in 2 1/2 cups of hot water until the mixture is well combined.
  3. Let the dough rise until it doubles in size.
  4. Roll the risen dough into a rectangular shape on a floured surface.
  5. Spread the surface with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar mixture.
  6. Roll the rectangle into a jelly roll shape and cut into slices 1 1/2 to 2 inches thick.
  7. Place the slices in a greased pan and let them rise until puffy.
  8. In a saucepan, melt the oleo, corn syrup, brown sugar, and chopped nuts to create the topping.
  9. Pour the warm topping over the risen rolls.
  10. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes until golden brown.
