Ingredients

  • 1 cup alphabet, star or fidello pasta
  • 2 Tbsp cooking oil
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 1 clove crushed garlic
  • 2 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 bouillon cubes
  • 1/3 cup tomato sauce
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a 2-quart heavy pan, fry pasta in oil until lightly browned. Stir constantly.
  2. Add diced onion and crushed garlic, cook until browned.
  3. Add tomato sauce, chicken broth, and seasonings.
  4. Cover and bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat and steam for 20 to 25 minutes without stirring.
  6. Serve and top with grated Cheddar cheese.
