Ingredients

  • 1 (No. 303) can pie cherries
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup nuts
  • 4 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 medium can crushed pineapple, drained
  • red food coloring
  • 1 package cherry gelatin

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar and red food coloring in a saucepan.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Pour the hot mixture over the cherry gelatin in a mold or bowl.
  4. Add the plain gelatin softened in cold water and stir until dissolved.
  5. Add the rind of orange and lemon for flavor.
  6. Stir in the juice from the drained crushed pineapple, the cherry pie cherries, nuts, and drained pineapple.
  7. Refrigerate until set before serving.
