Ingredients

  • 1 package butter cake mix
  • 12 oz frozen coconut
  • 16 oz sour cream
  • 9 oz Cool Whip

Instructions

  1. Make the cake according to the package directions.
  2. Bake in two 9-inch pans. Let cool, then slice each layer to make four layers.
  3. Combine sugar, sour cream, and frozen coconut until smooth; set aside 1 cup of this mixture.
  4. Spread the remaining mixture between the cake layers.
  5. Frost the assembled cake with Cool Whip and top with the reserved coconut mixture.
