Ingredients

  • 1 qt. tomatoes
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1/2 c. vinegar
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 onion
  • 3 to 4 lb. chuck or brisket

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine tomatoes, allspice, cloves, vinegar, sugar, and chopped onion.
  2. Add the beef chuck or brisket to the pot, ensuring it is covered with the sauce.
  3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer gently for about 3 hours until the meat is tender.
  4. Check occasionally and add water if necessary to keep the meat submerged.
  5. Remove the meat, slice or shred as desired, and serve with the flavorful sauce.
