Ingredients

  • 1/3 c. brown sugar
  • 1/3 c. water
  • 2 tsp. whole cloves
  • 2 sticks cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. whole allspice
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 qt. cider

Instructions

  1. Combine brown sugar, water, whole cloves, cinnamon sticks, allspice, and salt in a 4-cup measure. Microwave at High for 4 to 6 minutes to form a light syrup.
  2. Combine the syrup with cider in a 3-quart casserole dish.
  3. Microwave for 7 to 9 minutes until heated through.
  4. Strain before serving.
