Ingredients

  • 1 package yellow cake mix
  • 1 tablespoon instant tea with lemon
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 tablespoon cloves
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 3/4 cup cooking oil
  • 4 eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (325°F if using colored fluted tube pan).
  2. Using solid shortening, grease the 12-cup tube pan and flour it. Also grease if the pan has a nonstick finish.
  3. In a large bowl, blend the yellow cake mix, instant tea with lemon, cinnamon, cloves, orange juice, cooking oil, and eggs.
  4. Beat the mixture for 2 minutes at the highest speed.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  6. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool the cake upright in the pan for 15 minutes, then turn onto a serving plate.
