Ingredients

  • 2 qt. cider
  • 12 whole cloves
  • 4 sticks cinnamon
  • rind of 4 lemons
  • 2 lemons, peeled and thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Combine cider, cloves, cinnamon sticks, lemon rind, sliced lemons, and nutmeg in a pot.
  2. Cover and heat to boiling.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes.
  4. Allow to cool, then strain to remove spices and lemon zest.
  5. Discard spices and lemon rind.
  6. Chill overnight in refrigerator to allow flavors to blend.
  7. Reheat when ready to serve.
