Ingredients

  • 1 lb. spinach or 2 cans, drained well
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 large diced onion
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp. salad oil

Instructions

  1. Wash and drain the spinach.
  2. Cut the spinach into smaller pieces and add the diced onion.
  3. Add salt, black pepper, cinnamon, and salad oil to the mixture.
  4. Use your favorite bobalki dough recipe to prepare the dough.
  5. Roll out a small portion of dough at a time and cut into large squares.
  6. Place about 1 tablespoon of filling onto each square, fold over, and pinch the edges to seal.
  7. Prick the sealed filled pastries with a fork and brush with oil.
  8. Bake on a well-greased cookie sheet for 20 minutes or until golden brown at 400°F.
