Spinach With Ground Meat

Ingredients

  • Frozen or fresh spinach (1 kilo or two to three frozen packs)
  • 1/2 kilo of ground beef
  • One large onion, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon All spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • a bunch of fresh coriander
  • 4 garlic cloves, chopped
  • lemons
  • rice (cooked)

Instructions

  1. In a cooking pot, add olive oil and heat
  2. Add onions, ground beef, spices and saute until meat browned
  3. Add spinach and saute for a few minutes then add enough water to cover the spinach
  4. Let boil, then turn down heat to simmer and cook for a further 30 minutes or so.
  5. In a separate pan saute the garlic and chopped coriander in some olive oil for a few minutes (do not burn) then add the mixture to the spinach and let simmer together for another 10-15 mins
  6. Serve hot with rice and salad. Serve lemons to squeeze on spinach
