Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the cake mix, margarine, and 1/3 cup evaporated milk.
  3. Spray a 13 x 9-inch pan with Pam and pour the mixture into it. Spread evenly.
  4. Bake for 5 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, melt the caramels in 1/3 cup evaporated milk.
  6. Remove the cake from the oven after 5 minutes.
  7. Spread chocolate chips and pecans evenly over the partially baked cake.
  8. Pour the melted caramel evenly over all the ingredients in the pan.
  9. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 20 minutes.
  10. Serve warm, optionally topped with ice cream.
