Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1/4 c. warm water
  • 1/2 c. plus 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 2 c. milk
  • 3 small or 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. mashed potatoes (no cream)
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • flour (enough to make thick dough)

Instructions

  1. Mix yeast in warm water.
  2. Add remaining ingredients.
  3. Let rise.
  4. Roll out on floured surface.
  5. Cut with doughnut cutter and fry.
