Square Molasses Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. oil
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 c. dark molasses
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 3/4 c. hot water
  • 4 c. flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp. soda

Instructions

  1. Soak raisins in hot water.
  2. Mix the sugar, oil, egg and molasses.
  3. Add flour, salt, soda and raisins.
  4. Spread into greased oblong pans.
  5. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.
  6. Cut into squares.
