Steak A La King features tender round steak cooked with flavorful onions, peppers, and a tangy ketchup-based sauce, perfect for hearty family dinners and comfort food lovers.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. round steak
  • 1/2 small lemon
  • 1 large green pepper
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 bottle ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp. water

Instructions

  1. Place the round steak in an ungreased, unheated iron skillet.
  2. Slice the lemon and place the slices on top of the steak.
  3. Cut the onion into thin slices and the green pepper into thin rings.
  4. Arrange the onion slices and pepper rings on top of the steak and lemon.
  5. Cover all with ketchup.
  6. Use 2 tablespoons of water to rinse the ketchup bottle and add to the skillet.
  7. Cover with a tight-fitting lid.
  8. Cook in a 300°F (150°C) oven for 1 1/2 to 2 hours until the steak is fork-tender.
