Ingredients

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups + 4 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 4 tablespoons sugar

Instructions

  1. Blend shortening, sugar, and eggs until smooth.
  2. Add flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt; mix well.
  3. Roll the dough into small balls.
  4. In a sandwich bag, shake together the 4 tablespoons of sugar and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon.
  5. Place the dough balls into the bag and shake to coat.
  6. Arrange the coated balls on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  7. Bake at 375°F for 8 to 10 minutes until lightly golden.
