Ingredients

  • 4 to 5 cans peeled tomatoes
  • 6 pieces dry white bread
  • 1 cup onions, chopped
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Open cans of peeled tomatoes and drain the juice.
  2. Take the tomatoes and squash them with your hands to extract more juice.
  3. Saute onions in a large frying pan, then add the drained tomatoes, salt, pepper, and sugar; mix well.
  4. Tear pieces of dry white bread and add to the tomato mixture.
  5. Stir well and simmer for several hours, stirring often.
  6. Serve piping hot.
