Strawberry Trifles
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup plus 1/3 cup brandy
- 2 tbsp brown sugar ⓘ
- 2 tbsp strawberry jam ⓘ
- 1 lb strawberries, hulled and quartered ⓘ
- 1 1/4 cups heavy cream ⓘ
- 1 tbsp powdered sugar ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp vanilla bean paste
- 1 tub (8 oz) mascarpone cheese
- 3 pkg (3 oz each) ladyfingers ⓘ
- 2 oz milk chocolate, grated
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds, toasted ⓘ
Instructions
- Place 1/4 cup brandy, brown sugar and jam in small saucepan on low heat. Stir until sugar dissolves. Pour into medium bowl; cool slightly. Add berries; toss to coat. Refrigerate until ready to use.
- Beat cream, powdered sugar and vanilla in a large bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed until soft peaks form. Place mascarpone in separate bowl. Fold in whipped cream.
- Place 1/3 cup brandy in shallow bowl. Dip half of the ladyfingers in brandy and divide among 8 serving glasses, breaking up ladyfingers as needed to fit glasses. Top with half the berries and whipped cream. Repeat layers. Sprinkle with chocolate and almonds. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
