- Prepare the cake mix as directed on the package and bake in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Remove the cake from the oven and poke holes throughout with the round handle of a wooden spoon at 1-inch intervals.
- Combine pudding mix with confectioners sugar in a large bowl.
- Gradually stir in milk, then beat at low speed for no more than 1 minute.
- Pour about half of the thin pudding evenly over the warm cake and into the holes to make the strips.
- Allow the remaining pudding to thicken slightly, then spoon it over the top of the cake, swirling to frost.
- Chill the cake for at least one hour before serving.
- Store in the refrigerator.
