Ingredients

  • 6 small boxes assorted Jell-O
  • boiling water
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 envelopes unflavored gelatin
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 16 oz sour cream

Instructions

  1. Prepare 1 box of Jell-O with 1 1/2 cups boiling water, then pour into a 9 x 13-inch glass dish and refrigerate until set.
  2. Scald milk and sugar together in a saucepan.
  3. Soften the gelatin in cold water, then add it to the hot milk and sugar mixture, stirring until dissolved.
  4. Let the milk and gelatin mixture cool to lukewarm, then stir or beat in sour cream until smooth.
  5. Once the first layer of Jell-O is set, pour on 1 cup of the white filling and refrigerate until it is firm.
  6. Prepare the second box of Jell-O so it remains at room temperature when the white layer is ready to be poured.
  7. Keep layering the Jell-O and white filling, ending with a layer of Jell-O on top.
  8. If the white mixture begins to set in the pan, heat it slightly and stir until liquefied and smooth.
