Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • dash of salt

Instructions

  1. Moisten the cornstarch in a small amount of water.
  2. Stir in boiling water and then let it cool.
  3. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  4. Add a dash of salt to the egg whites.
  5. Gradually add sugar while beating.
  6. Fold in the cooked and cooled cornstarch until firm peaks form.
  7. Shape the meringue and brown it for 10 minutes at 425°F.
  8. Use as a filling or topping for 2 pies.
