Ingredients

  • 2 cups rice
  • 1 stick butter
  • assorted fresh vegetables
  • 1 can mushrooms and stems (optional)
  • 1 bag shredded cheese (any kind)
  • 1 onion (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil rice until soft, then drain.
  2. Add half a stick of butter to the rice for seasoning and moisture.
  3. Chop assorted vegetables and sauté them in a pan with butter until almost soft.
  4. Add cooked rice to the sautéed vegetables and mix well.
  5. In a casserole dish, layer rice and vegetables, then sprinkle shredded cheese over each layer.
  6. Repeat layering until all rice, vegetables, and cheese are used, ending with a cheese layer on top.
