Ingredients

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 1/2 cup Crisco shortening
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 small can milk
  • enough water to fill the milk can
  • 3 cups plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon lemon flavoring

Instructions

  1. Cream the sugar, margarine, and Crisco shortening together with a mixer.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Alternate adding flour with the milk, lemon flavoring, and vanilla flavoring until the batter is smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into a well-greased and floured tube pan.
  5. Bake for 1 1/2 hours at 300°F.
