Ingredients

  • 1/2 fully cooked smoked ham (about 5 lb.)
  • whole cloves
  • 1 cup jellied cranberry sauce
  • 2 tablespoons thawed frozen orange juice concentrate
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • pinch ground cloves

Instructions

  1. Place the ham on a rack in a roasting pan.
  2. Bake at 325°F for 30 minutes.
  3. Remove the ham from the oven.
  4. Trim excess fat and rind with a sharp knife.
  5. Score the fat in a diamond pattern and insert cloves where points meet.
  6. In a small saucepan, combine cranberry sauce, orange juice, brown sugar, and vinegar.
  7. Simmer for 2 minutes, stirring constantly to make the glaze.
  8. Brush the glaze onto the ham.
  9. Return the ham to the oven.
  10. Bake for 1 hour, brushing with the glaze every 15 minutes.
  11. Let the ham stand for 10 minutes before slicing.
