Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 2 c. raw peanuts
  • 1 c. light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp. soda

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, water, and corn syrup in a saucepan and stir until smooth.
  2. Cook the mixture over medium heat until it reaches the thread stage, about 10 minutes.
  3. Add raw peanuts to the hot syrup and cook until they turn golden brown.
  4. Remove the pan from heat, stir in the soda, and mix well.
  5. Pour the mixture onto a greased cookie sheet and spread evenly.
  6. Allow the brittle to cool completely, then break into pieces and store in an airtight container.
