Ingredients

  • 1 cup uncooked rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Combine rice, water, and salt in a pot.
  2. Bring to a low boil, then reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
  3. Add milk, sugar, butter, and cooked rice to a pan and cook over medium heat until thickened, about 30 to 45 minutes, stirring often.
  4. Sprinkle with cinnamon and/or nutmeg before serving.
