Ingredients

  • 10 slices white bread
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 4 eggs
  • 2.5 cups milk
  • 0.5 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.5 cup apricot jam

Instructions

  1. Butter the bread slices, remove the crusts, and cut each into two triangles.
  2. Arrange half the bread, buttered side up, in a baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle half the raisins evenly over the bread.
  4. Repeat with the remaining bread and raisins.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, egg yolks, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  6. Pour the custard mixture over the layered bread in the dish, ensuring all pieces are soaked.
  7. Let it sit for about 15 minutes to absorb the custard.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
