Tab'S Apple Pie

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 2 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 unbaked pie shell
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/3 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 6 to 8 apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1/4 c. heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Mix sugars, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.
  2. Cut in butter. Place apples in a large bowl.
  3. Sprinkle with lemon juice.
  4. Add sugar mixture, coating apples evenly.
  5. Arrange in pie shell.
  6. Bake at 400° for 10 minutes.
  7. Reduce temperature to 350°.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes or until apples are tender.
  9. Pour cream over apples carefully.
  10. Bake 10 minutes longer.
  11. Serve warm.
