Ingredients

  • 3 lb. lean stew beef
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can cream of celery soup
  • 1 can mushroom pieces
  • 2 Tbsp. red wine or cooking sherry

Instructions

  1. Trim fat off the stew beef.
  2. Place the beef in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
  3. Combine the cream of mushroom soup, cream of celery soup, mushroom pieces, and red wine or sherry.
  4. Pour the mixture over the stew beef.
  5. Cover the pan with foil.
  6. Bake at 250°F (120°C) for 6 hours.
  7. Alternatively, cook in a crock-pot for similar results.
  8. Serve with rice or noodles.
