Ingredients

  • 1 loaf french bread
  • 1/4 lb black forest ham
  • 1/4 lb mortadella
  • 1/4 lb hard salami
  • 1/4 lb pepperoni, sliced
  • 1 lb provolone cheese, sliced
  • 1 lb mozzarella cheese, sliced

Instructions

  1. Make the Sunshine Sub Sauce and set aside.
  2. (See my recipe)
  3. Preheat the oven to 350F.
  4. Cut the french bread lengthwise.
  5. Put a layer of provolone cheese.
  6. Drizzle some of the Sunshine Sub Sauce on.
  7. In a large skillet or griddle over medium heat, brown the hard salami.
  8. Layer over the provolone.
  9. Wipe the grease from the skillet with a paper towel.
  10. In the same skillet or griddle, brown the mortadella and layer over the salami.
  11. Brown the pepperoni and layer over the mortadella.
  12. Brown the ham and layer over the pepperoni.
  13. Add a layer of mozzarella cheese.
  14. (If you can use sliced mozzarella; use that.
  15. Shredded is a pain)
  16. Now add the bell pepper, red onion, black olives, and mild banana peppers.
  17. Add some more Sunshine Sub Sauce and put the lid on.
  18. Brush the top with butter or margarine and sprinkle on some garlic salt.
  19. Wrap in foil and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  20. Serve hot to your hungry clan.
