- In a mixer bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and creamy.
- Beat in eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly.
- Stir together cake mix and self-rising flour.
- With mixer on low speed, alternately add dry ingredients, milk, and sour cream to the butter mixture, mixing well.
- Spray an 8-inch pan with cooking spray and add 3/4 cup of the batter.
- Bake at 375°F for 10 minutes.
- Cool the cakes and frost with Iron Skillet Chocolate Icing.
