Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 1/2 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 (8 oz.) sour cream
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 6 eggs

Instructions

  1. In a mixer bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and creamy.
  2. Beat in eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly.
  3. Stir together cake mix and self-rising flour.
  4. With mixer on low speed, alternately add dry ingredients, milk, and sour cream to the butter mixture, mixing well.
  5. Spray an 8-inch pan with cooking spray and add 3/4 cup of the batter.
  6. Bake at 375°F for 10 minutes.
  7. Cool the cakes and frost with Iron Skillet Chocolate Icing.
