Three Layer Dinner(Amish)

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. hamburger
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 c. ketchup
  • 1 head cabbage
  • 6 to 8 c. potatoes, diced
  • 4 slices cheese
  • 1 1/2 c. milk

Instructions

  1. Brown hamburger, then season with salt and pepper.
  2. Mix in ketchup; set aside.
  3. Shred 1/2 head of raw cabbage into baking dish.
  4. Add half of raw diced potatoes.
  5. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  6. Add all of hamburger mixture.
  7. Cover with slices of cheese.
  8. Shred remaining cabbage and sprinkle over cheese.
  9. Add remaining raw potatoes.
  10. Pour 1 1/2 cups milk over all.
  11. Bake at 375° for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
  12. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
