Ingredients

  • 4 Tbsp. salt
  • 4 Tbsp. alum
  • 4 Tbsp. pickling spice
  • 4 c. white sugar
  • 1 gal. sliced cucumbers
  • water

Instructions

  1. Cover the cucumbers with the prepared salt, alum, pickling spice, and water. Let set for 3 months, shaking daily.
  2. Wash and drain the pickled cucumbers. Add 4 cups of sugar and let sit for 1 week.
  3. Enjoy the pickles once they have finished curing.
