Delightful thumbprint cookies featuring buttery, tender texture with sweet jam centers. Perfect for holidays, parties, or a charming treat any time of year. Mildly nutty and sweet.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup confectioners sugar
  • 1 cup flour

Instructions

  1. Cut butter into small bits; add vanilla and almond extract and mix.
  2. Add cornstarch, confectioners sugar, and flour.
  3. Mix with a spoon until combined.
  4. Make balls with 1 tablespoon of dough each.
  5. Place on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
  6. Make a dent in each cookie with your thumb and put a little jam into each dent.
  7. Bake at 325°F for 20 minutes. Cool on racks.
