Tips & Substitutions

For a richer flavor, consider replacing half of the oleo with unsalted butter. You can also use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream for a healthier twist. If you want to add some texture, try incorporating chocolate chips or dried fruit into the batter. To enhance the taste even more, experiment with different nuts or spices like nutmeg. This cake is also fantastic as a base for Clown Cupcakes!

Serving Suggestions

Serve the Toffee Treasure Cake warm or at room temperature, optionally dusted with powdered sugar for a sweet finish. It pairs beautifully with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an indulgent treat. For an impressive dessert spread, consider serving it alongside Luscious Lemon Squares or Great Chocolate Cake for a delightful variety.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. If you want to keep it longer, refrigerate for up to a week. To reheat, slice and microwave for about 10-15 seconds until warm. You can also enjoy it cold, as the flavors will continue to develop over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a different type of pan instead of a Bundt pan?

Yes, you can use a regular round cake pan, but the baking time may vary. If using a 9x13 inch pan, reduce the baking time by about 10-15 minutes. Always check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out clean.

What kind of candy bars work best for this recipe?

You can use any chocolate or toffee-flavored candy bars, such as Skor or Heath bars, for a delightful crunch and flavor. Alternatively, you can chop up your favorite chocolate bars or even use a mix of different candies for added variety.

Can I make this cake ahead of time?

Absolutely! You can bake the cake a day in advance. Just be sure to cool it completely before storing. Cover it well to keep it moist. The flavors often improve after a day, making it a great option for gatherings or special occasions.
