Ingredients

  • 4 to 5 carrots
  • 6 stems celery
  • 2 medium onions
  • 1 can green beans
  • 1 large can tomatoes
  • 4 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 2 Tbsp. water

Instructions

  1. Cut into pieces (as for soup) the first 3 ingredients.
  2. Add a little salt.
  3. Simmer in the juice of the tomatoes.
  4. Add water sparingly to cover until tender.
  5. Add cut up tomatoes and green beans.
  6. Add 3 to 4 tablespoons margarine.
  7. Simmer, adding one tablespoon cornstarch, dissolved in water to thicken.
