Tomatoes Stuffed With Macaroni

Ingredients

  • 4 large ripe tomatoes
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1/2 green pepper, chopped
  • 1/4 c. chopped celery
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 2 c. cooked macaroni
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cut a thin slice
  2. from stem
  3. end of unpeeled tomatoes. Scoop out centers; leave outer
  4. wall.
  5. Reserve centers. Cook onion, green pepper and
  6. celery
  7. in
  8. margarine
  9. for
  10. about
  11. 5 minutes. Add tomato centers and cook for 10 minutes.
  12. Combine with macaroni.
  13. Season to
  14. taste
  15. with
  16. salt and pepper.
  17. Fill tomatoes.
  18. Bake in 325° oven for about 30 minutes.
